About Us

Concept Energy Management is the result of thirty-five years experience in the oil and gas industry. We are landowner representatives.  A significant part of our business is to assist the landowner in the successful marketing, negotiation and execution of oil and gas leases to experienced, well-financed explorationists capable of performing under those agreements.

We do not merely find a buyer for our clients’ leases.  We work hard to see that the leases are negotiated with parties willing to drill on the land so that if the wells produce our clients may enjoy years of royalty payments.  We know that wealth is built on royalty not merely on bonus; so much of our effort is concentrated on negotiating royalty terms.

At Concept we never forget who owns the land.  We don’t think you should either. If you own the surface of the land this is a basic point that needs to be made and remembered when negotiating your lease and afterward.

The mention of what happens after you execute your lease brings me to another of our primary services: we manage producing and non-producing minerals.  That service includes lease negotiation, title investigations, royalty monitoring, at each or any step in the payment process.  We are capable of determining if you are being paid properly, according to the terms of your lease, if your land has been included in a pooled unit, if production is being obtained from your property and reported to the regulatory authorities.  We monitor lease maintenance and operations.

We can help you setup your records or automate your manual systems. We are experienced researchers and are experienced in litigation support.  We can assist you in organizing documents for inventory or litigation purposes.

We have particular expertise in Texas, and particularly in the Eagle Ford shale play where Patricia Schultz-Ormond, President of Concept Energy, has been involved since its inception in 2008.  Landowner representation in that play is a significant part of our business at Concept.  We also have significant experience in most oil and gas producing states in the United States.

We know that landowners need advocates who have experience and understand the dynamics of the industry, advocates who can negotiate a tough lease but one that an operator can still make a profit under.  After all, the operator has to make a profit or a landowner cannot build wealth.  The ability to do both while remaining keenly aware of whom one serves is rare.  At Concept we don’t have a problem with that.
